something very very important
Hi people!,
im doing this because of my concern for everyone's safety. haha. and also partly because mr goh told me to do so. apparently there is going to be a safety officer coming down on the 5th and 6th of august so you guys are supposed to memorise (i hear some gasps, haha) and repeat them if the situation arises
1. Stop training promptly when lifeguards sound the warning
2. Adopt a buddy system. For example, partners are supposed to check up on their partners after every lap
3. Recommend swimmers to stop swimming if they are feeling unwell
4. Do proper warm-up exercises before training
5. Brief swimmers on what to do when they are facing difficulties in the water. (think of some e.gs yourself? like scream and wave your hands frantically. pulling someone else with you down is a definite no-no. haha)
yep, will be postin this on swim blog i suppose.
and there are some ppl who still haven confirmed with me if they are going for the sportsmen night!!! GRRR. here are the details, it will be held on the 2nd of oct. dinner time. free dinner? haha. most of the people who replied me have indicated their interest so if you are worried abt getting stuck with me, then be rest assured.
thanks

Hey guys!
I'm writing this post on behalf of Vivien, who was our former 06 VJ Swim Team Secretary.
She needs volunteers for the event in which she is organizing, SPIRITUS2008.
Here's an excerpt of what the event is about -
Team Spiritus, supported by Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes 2008, is organizing Spiritus 2008, a charity event aimed at raising funds for Very Special Arts (Singapore).
Spiritus2008 is recruiting volunteers to help with the fundraising. A pair of volunteers will carry a sandwich board and a donation box around public spaces. They will approach members of the public to write a short note of encouragement to show their support for the children and youth at Very Special Arts. In addition, $2 will be collected for each message written. Once the boards are filled, they will be displayed at the Very Special Arts office and classroom areas.
This project will be taking place every Sunday between 2 to 6 pm. Volunteers are able to select which Sundays are most suitable for them and they need not come down every single Sunday. Community Involvement Programme (CIP) hours will be attributed to all participants of this project and a certificate indicating how many hours they have contributed to this cause will be awarded at the end of the project.
All funds generated from the donations will be donated to Very Special Arts (Singapore) – a Voluntary Welfare Organisation that provides disabled people with opportunities to access the arts for rehabilitation and social integration. Spiritus 2008 is also aimed at spreading public awareness for Very Special Arts (Singapore).
Your school’s support will go a long way in aiding Very Special Arts (Singapore) and its beneficiaries. We kindly request that you:
a. Relay information on Spiritus2008 to your Community Involvement Club, and the enclosed signup sheets for students to sign up
b. Grant permission for the display of Spiritus2008 posters in your school premises.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Lydia Lim at 91515497 or Ms Vivien Shiao at 90068376 or email us at spiritus2008@gmail.com.
We can take part in this as a team if you guys are really interested and committed :D
